This 2-session class will incorporate important elements of Basic Floral Design, including choosing vases/containers, conditioning/care of flowers, selecting flowers, composing an arrangement, and choosing colors for an arrangement. In the first session the instructor will explain and demonstrate the above elements in arrangements she completes during the class.  In the second session students will make their own arrangements- bringing their own vase/container(s) and flowers.  Students are invited to display their arrangements during an artist's reception for "Art in Bloom" on June 2nd from 2-4, also the same day as the Corrales Garden Tour.  Please join us for the fun and informative class!

INSTRUCTOR: Patricia (Patty) Kruger is an award-winning New Mexico Artist, working in many media.  She received her Floral Design instruction, primarily through the SANTA FE GARDEN CLUB.  It is part of the Garden Club of America (GCA),  national organization with 200 member clubs.  While living in Santa Fe, she was a member and participated in Regional Flower Shows.  The shows had “themes” and members were judged on their designs.  Since that time, she has designed floral arrangements for weddings and many other events.  Her art career has enhanced her understanding of color and composition in all media, including floral design, which is one of her favorites.
