This 6-week class will teach kids to express and gain awareness of their body through hip hop jazz. Moving through time and space, these kids will learn physical endurance, expression, musicality and rhythm with a funk.

Luz Guillen is originally from the Albuquerque metro area trained in ballet, tap and jazz under the direction of Cecelia Jaramillo. She received her BA in Dance Modern Contemporary from the University of New Mexico under the direction of Donna Jewell and Vladimir Conde Reche. During this time she had performed works by Martha Graham and Takehiro Ueyama. She has previously been employed to perform at Walt Disney World and Santa Fe Opera. Luz taught with NDI Albuquerque before moving to NYC. There, as a free-lance dancer, she worked with various choreographers including Henning Rübsam's Sense Dance Company, Tina Croll Dance Company, Cecilia Marta, and flamenco artist Juana Cala among others. Her choreography was shown at Tank Theater in NYC and has taught all styles of dance at various dance studios of the TriState area.
For kids in the 3rd - 5th grades. Cost: $50. Wear street clothes and shoes.
